SYNOPSIS

A FRIENDLY DIVORCE is a play about something everyone who goes through a divorce likes to pretend they're having, but seldom if ever do. The play examines the breakup of two marriages of different duration's.

The first act, THE BIG D takes place in a marriage counselor's office. Marilyn and Hank Cofield, two self-absorbed, middle-aged people, must not only deal with the demise of their twenty-six year old marriage, but the sudden death of their therapist during their counseling session.

The second act, CORALEE'S EPIPHANY takes a humorous and sympathetic look at the end of a fifty-year old marriage. During a trip to Las Vegas Coralee Parker sees fifty Elvis impersonators, skydiving with flares into a parking lot. She suddenly realizes she needs more out of life than celebrating her Golden Anniversary with her husband Roy.
